Veneers for Teeth in Philadelphia Area

If the availability of information is what is holding you from fixing your imperfect smile, this article is for you. Read on to find how Dr. David Spilkia uses naturally-looking veneers to get you grinning with confidence.

What are porcelain veneers?

Veneers are tooth-colored, thin shells mounted on the front teeth to change your tooth shape, size, and color. Given the versatility of this treatment, there’s no wonder most patients are quickly adopting veneers to rejuvenate their smiles.

While cost is the common drawback of veneers, veneers have also been known to be quite invasive. However, with the advancing dentistry technology, placing veneers today requires removing only a little of your enamel, preserving most of your natural tooth.

Veneers installation process

Like any other dental procedure, information is power. The more you know about the process, the more comfortable it becomes. In light of this, we would like to enlighten you on the veneer placement process.

After Dr. Spilkia determines you are a perfect candidate for veneers, you need at least two appointments to walk away with a killer smile. In the first appointment, Dr. Spilkia will reshape your teeth to create room for veneers. Then, he will take your bite impressions and send them to the lab to create your veneers. In the meantime, you may have to wear temporal veneers.

When your permanent veneers are ready, you will make another appointment with our clinic. Here, your dentist roughens your teeth to create a grip for veneers. He then applies an adhesive to which your veneers are glued. Finally, your dentist uses a special light to cement your veneers in place. After polishing and checking that your veneers fit comfortably, you can now show your transformed smile to the world.

Teeth imperfections that disappear with porcelain veneers

Are you finding yourself smiling less and less because of teeth flaws? You don’t have to continue living this way. Dental veneers can help fix the below dental challenges:

  • Stained teeth: As years go by, your teeth may become discolored, resulting in a dull smile. Besides, food substances like soda, wine, and certain medications may discolor your teeth. Whereas teeth whitening products can brighten your smile, veneers are equally good at whitening your smile.
  • Chipped or broken teeth: Broken teeth can put a severe dent on your smile. Although crowns and teeth bonding can fix this, veneers remain as the long-lasting solution.
  • Misaligned teeth: While Invisalign and braces are advisable for severely crooked teeth, veneers can be used to treat minor alignment and crowding issues.
  • Worn-down teeth: Erosion, attrition, and abrasion cause teeth to become unattractive over time, but veneers can restore them to pristine condition.
