Philadelphia Dentist describes the process of KöR Teeth Whitening

KöR teeth whitening is the best way for patients in the Philadelphia area with sensitivity issues to rejuvenate their smiles. This is one of the most requested services in cosmetic dentistry, and Dr. David Spilkia of David Spilkia Family and Cosmetic Dentistry can help by describing this special bleaching process.

KöR teeth whitening has several benefits over other systems. It uses refrigerated gel, which becomes effective as soon as it is warmed after application to the teeth. It does not require a light as other systems do, because the light dries out the teeth and can make the teeth extremely sensitive. Patients may become uncomfortable during the process, so our practice focuses on the use of non-lighted whitening systems. Additionally, this method uses a combination of at-home whitening and in-office treatments for dramatic results compared with over-the-counter alternatives.

Patients begin the process with a set of custom-made trays that are sent home with whitening gel. Patients use the gel in the trays and wear them every night for several weeks. Then patients come into the office for a chair side treatment. During this time, material is applied to the gums to act as a barrier for the gum tissue to protect it from the bleach, and many applications are done during this one appointment. Then, patients return home to continue using the whitening trays for a result.

This process does not use acids, which can help in decreasing sensitivity. It is formulated with a neutral PH and it uses a peroxide-based gel to attain results. Patients also use desensitizer before and after their treatment to ensure reduced discomfort. Most patients do not experience any problems when using their desensitizer gel regularly and as prescribed.

The KöR teeth whitening process has been used for several years as one of the most beneficial methods of improving the smile in a way that can make a dramatic change in a short period. Patients find this type of bleaching process to be an easy, pain-free, and extremely attainable to achieve a whiter, brighter smile in just several weeks.
